The 27th Kathina Robe Offering Ceremony was held at Multipurpose Hall, UCMT on 24th November 2023 at 10:00 a.m. At the ceremony, (5) members of the Sangha led by Nyaung Thone Pin Monastery Sayadaw were present and Rector, Pro-Rector (Admin), Pro-Rector (Academic), Professors and Heads of Departments of (Admin and Administration), teachers and staff attended the ceremony.

Firstly, the ceremony was opened by reciting the Namotassa three times and Rector, Pro-Rectors, teachers and staff took the five precepts from venerable Sayadaw from Chan Myae Tharyar Aye Monastery. And then, the venerable Sayadaws chanted Metta Paritta Suttas and Rector, Pro-Rectors and the donors offered Kathina robes and offertories to members of the Sangha. After that, Vishuddha Rama Chan Myae Tharyar Aye Monastery Sayadaw preached the Anumodana Sermon followed by sharing of merits gained and concluded the Kathina Robe Offering Ceremony by reciting Buddha Sasanam Ciram Titthatu three times. After the ceremony, Rector, Pro-Rectors and donors offered day meals to members of the Sangha and the congregations were treated meals with steamed fish and Myanmar assorted vegetable soup. Donations of (7) Padethabin (the structures decorated with currency notes and other offertories) and cash at the Kathina Robe Offering Ceremony of UCMT total amounted to k 2,230,100.
