A ceremony of hearing Parritta Chanting for Special Blessings and Protection was held at Multipurpose Hall, UCMT on 1st December 2023 at 10:00 a.m in commemoration of the university’s 11th anniversary. At the ceremony, (11) members of the Sangha led by Nyaung Thone Pin Monastery Sayadaw were present and Rector, Pro-Rector (Admin), Pro-Rector (Academic), Professors and Heads of Departments of (Teaching and Administration), teachers and staff attended the ceremony.

Firstly, the ceremony was opened by reciting the Namotassa three times and Rector, Pro-Rectors, Professors and Heads of Departments of (Teaching and Administration), teachers and staff took the five precepts from venerable Sayadaw from Chan Myae Tharyar Aye Monastery. And then, the congregation listened to the Parritta Suttas chanted by members of the Sangha and Rector, Pro-Rectors, Professors and Heads of Departments of (Teaching and Administration) offered the Sayadaws robes, cash and other offertories like rice, oil, salt and medicine. After that, the congregation took the sermon delivered by Vishuddha Rama Chan Myae Tharyar Aye Monastery Sayadaw and shared merits gained and concluded the ceremony by reciting Buddha Sasanam Ciram Titthatu three times. After the ceremony, members of the Sangha were offered day meals with desserts and the congregations were treated butter rice with chicken curry and cold drink.
