The 4th Monsoon Tree Planting Ceremony of 2024 was held at the University of Cooperative and Management, Thanlyin on 4th July, 2024 at 7:00 a.m supervised by the Forest Department under the guidance of the Yangon Region Government. Prime Minister of Yangon Region Government and his wife, ministers and their wives from the Yangon Region Government, Senior Military Officers, the mayor, the attorney general, regional district, and township-level departmental officials, organizations, invited guests, the Rector, Pro-Rectors (Administration and Academic), Heads of 14 departments, teachers, staff, students from the UCMT, and teachers and students from Basic Education Schools in Thanlyin Township, totally (1190) people attended the ceremony.

At the ceremony, U Soe Thein, Yangon Region Prime Minister delivered the opening speech, stating that the 4th monsoon Tree Planting Ceremony 2024 was held with the objectives of ensuring the sustainability of forest resources, greening and beautifying urban areas, promoting public health and happiness, developing green recreational spaces and conserving forest ecosystems and biodiversity. He also emphasized the need for the Yangon Region Government to organize tree planting events as a national duty to achieve the goal of a green and beautiful city.

During the monsoon tree planting event, a total of (5202) trees of 13 saplings, including (97) Meze Trees, (500) Starflower Trees, (522) Iron Wood Trees, (251) Royal Poinciana Trees, (741) Pyinma Trees, (315) Ma.U Trees, (239) Padauk Trees, (142) Mesua Ferrea Trees, (685) Mahogany Trees, (259) Beef Wood Trees, (212) Chinese Fruit Trees, (632) Mala Luka Trees, (607) Acacia mangium (manjang)Trees, were planted on 5 acres of land on the right side of the main university road, led by the Yangon Region Prime Minister and his wife, who also watched and cheered the 2024 monsoon tree planting event.
